Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be majoring in political science, government, or economics.
  3. Must be a female.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must have successfully completed two years or more of college coursework at time of application.

Additional Information: The National Federation of Republican Women established the Betty Rendel Scholarship Fund in September of 1995 in honor of NFRW Past President Betty Rendel's extraordinary leadership skills and dedication to the Republican Party in her home state of Indiana as well as on the national level. Applicants may apply for only one NFRW scholarship per year.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship recipients may not reapply.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must also submit the following materials: three letters of recommendation, including phone numbers of authors for follow-up; an official copy of her most recent college transcript; a one-page typed essay stating the reason why she should be considered for the scholarship, including career goals; an optional photograph; and a signed 'State Federation President Certification' (certification form included in the application).The application must be submitted to the applicant's state federation president by June 1. Each president will then choose one application from her state to submit to the NFRW. The student should NOT submit her application directly to NFRW headquarters.
