Number of Awards & Eligibility: Nine awards offered annually as follows: one graduate student award; four bachelor's degree awards; four community college student awards.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student. Please note: Community college students must be transferring or graduating within the next 18 months.
  3. Must be a declared accounting major or have an emphasis in accounting (if a community college student). Please note: Community college students must have a minimum enrollment or have successfully completed financial and managerial accounting.
  4. Must be a full- or part-time student.
  5. Must attend one of the following institutions within the CalCPA Inland Empire Chapter's boundaries: Barstow College; California Baptist University; California Polytechnic State University-Pomona; California State University-San Bernardino; Chaffey College; Claremont McKenna College; College of the Desert; Crafton Hills College; La Sierra University; Mt. San Antonio University; Mt. San Jacinto College; Riverside Community College; San Bernardino Valley College; University of California-Riverside; University of La Verne; University of Redlands; Victor Valley College.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are attending colleges/universities located within the CalCPA Inland Empire Chapter's boundaries. Students must have a declared accounting major or emphasis in accounting (if a community college student).

Application requirements for the CalCPA Inland Empire Chapter Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Essay
  • Official Transcript
  • Recommendation letters (2)
Additional Information: All applicants must join CalCPA as student members, if not already members at time of application. Student membership is free. Students may join online at www.calcpa.org/join or via the application. Scholarship recipients must attend the annual Student Scholarship Event in November.

Award Amount: Award amounts are as follows: up to $2,000 for graduate students; up to $1,500 for bachelor's degree students; up to $500 for community college students. Awards are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,111.

Applications are available on the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) website by clicking on the 'CalCPA Chapter Scholarships' link under the appropriate heading for his/her current institution enrollment. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials (in the order listed): an essay of no more than 500 words addressing the topics listed on the application; a copy of his/her college transcript(s) (which will be independently verified if considered for an award); and two current letters of recommendation, at least one of which must be from a professor or instructor. Application materials must be submitted online by the deadline date. Applications open July 1.
