Award Amount

$1,100 annually, non-renewable. All scholarships are provided as cash awards with checks issued jointly in the name of the recipient and the college or institution he/she will be attending in the fall.


One award offered annually.

Additional Information

Barbara Carlson, along with her husband Will, was instrumental in the establishment of Bedding Plant International (BPI) trade association, which served hundreds of growers. Fran Johnson enjoyed a long, productive career with the John Henry Co., a horticultural printing firm in Lansing, Mich. Fran also made many significant and practical contributions of time and talent through BPI to advance the greenhouse industry. Each student who has won a scholarship will be sent a notification letter by U.S. mail. Scholarship decisions will be made by August of each year.
