Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards varies based on the number of eligible students and the amount of funds available.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be employed either full or part time in a licensed NH child care center or family child care program with children six weeks to five years of age. Child care teachers must work a minimum of 25 hours per week to be eligible for assistance. Directors seeking assistance must be working a minimum of 30 hours per week to be eligible.
  2. Must be enrolled at one of the following seven Community College System of New Hampshire colleges: Great Bay Community College (formerly NHCTC Stratham); Lakes Region Community College; Manchester Community College; Nashua Community College; New Hampshire Technical Institute-Concord; River Valley Community College; or White Mountains Community College.
  3. Must be currently enrolled as a college freshman or sophomore.
  4. Must be taking an early childhood education (ECE) course taught by faculty possessing a New Hampshire Early Childhood Master Professional Credential, with Faculty Endorsement. Please note: Non-ECE courses are not eligible for funding under this program, even if required for degree completion.
  5. This award is for U.S students.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S students who are residents of New Hampshire and plan to enroll at an eligible New Hampshire community college. The student must be currently employed, at least part-time, in a NH licensed (or license-exempt) early childhood program, or a licensed family child care program, and must be taking early childhood courses through CCSNH.

Additional Information: This grant program is available through a partnership with Granite State College and the Division of Children Youth & Families, Department of Health and Human Resources. Eligible students may receive assistance for one early childhood education (ECE) course per term. The goal of this program is to enable individuals working in the field to increase knowledge and skills to obtain and maintain the New Hampshire Early Childhood Professional Credential. By accepting funds through this program, the student must make a commitment to complete the course for which he/she receives tuition assistance. Students are also obligated to maintain employment within the field of early care and education for three months after the completion of the course. Failure to meet obligations will result in award repayment. Tuition assistance awards are not based on financial need. Students are responsible for all other expenses, including books and comprehensive fees.

Award Amount: The award covers 100 percent of tuition for students taking their first introductory-level ECE course. Additional full tuition awards are allowed for specific courses including Infant & Toddler Development and Early Childhood Special Needs. The award covers 50 percent of tuition for all other ECE courses. Awards are given per term and are non-renewable. Students may reapply each term in which they are eligible.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
