Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. The Actuarial Foundation awarded 94 college students with a scholarship in 2019.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be an actuarial student and have successfully completed one actuarial examination.
  3. Must rank in the top quartile (25 percent) of his/her college class.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on 4.0 scale)
  6. Must be undergraduate Senior who are enrolled as a full-time student at a U.S. accredited educational institution.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Scholarship is awarded annually to U.S undergraduate Seniors who are enrolled as a full-time student at a U.S. accredited educational institution, have successfully completed at least one actuarial examination, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on 4.0 scale) and must be nominated by a professor at their school. Each year, selected students receive a $3,000 scholarship award.

Application requirements for the Curtis E. Huntington Memorial Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The Actuarial Foundation ensures the future of the actuarial profession through its scholarships and reimbursement programs. Recipients of Foundation scholarships are selected by representatives of the actuarial profession, who may one day be their peers. So, not only are these scholarships a means to offset the cost of education, they also serve as a prestigious recognition by a highly rated profession.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.

Applications are available on the Actuarial Foundation website as a PDF or online application. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit a one-page (approximately 500 words) essay describing his/her extracurricular activities and why he/she should be awarded a scholarship. The student should then submit the completed application and essay to a professor at his/her school. The professor should verify the student's class ranking and senior status, and prepare a letter of nomination. Please note: There is a limit of one nomination per school.
