Number of Awards & Eligibility: Ten awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. citizens.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must major in and plan to pursue a career in healthcare policy.
  4. Must be a graduate student with at least five classes completed at the time of application.
  5. Must demonstrate academic achievement, community leadership, and a commitment to pursuing health policy.

Description: The David A. Winston Health Policy Scholarship Program is available for U.S. citizens who are currently enrolled in a graduate program related to healthcare policy. Applicants must demonstrate superior academic achievement, community leadership, and a commitment to pursuing a career in health policy and politics.

Additional Information: The objective of the David A. Winston Health Policy Scholarship is to increase the number and quality of individuals trained in healthcare policy at the state and federal level by awarding deserving health policy students financial support to further their education. The David A. Winston Health Policy Scholarship recognizes student excellence and achievement based upon the student’s record, recommendations from faculty and colleagues, and evidence of their interest in and committment to health policy.

Award Amount: $10,000 annually, non-renewable. In the fall following selection, students will be hosted at a 1-day health policy symposium in Washington, DC.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications for and information about the Corris Boyd Scholarship Program are available at the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) website. In addition to a completed online application, students must submit the following items: Copies of GRE and/or GMAT test score reports; A recently updated resume; A personal statement addressing why the student has chosen a career in healthcare administration; Three letters of Recommendation; Transcipts from all institutions of higher education attended; and information on other expected sources of financial assistance. Documents may be uploaded digitally (in .pdf format), mailed, or sent by fax.
