Delaware Higher Education Office
The award is in the form of a forgivable loan and cannot exceed the recipient's cost of tuition, mandatory fees, and other direct educational expenses. The award is renewable for one additional year. The loan will be forgiven at a rate of two years of employment as a licensed speech pathologist in a Delaware public school or a contracted provider of a Birth to 3 Early Intervention System program serving infants and toddlers for one year of loan.
The number of awards offered varies annually. In the 2013-2014 academic year (the most recent for which information is available), there were four awards given.
Applications are evaluated based on the student's academic record, community service, and financial need. Please note: Students enrolling in undergraduate and graduate-level speech-language pathology and audiology degree programs may also be eligible for in-state tuition at public colleges in 15 southern states via the Academic Common Market.
