Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be a full-time student.
  4. Must be currently enrolled in an aviation maintenance technician program (A&P) or a degree program in aviation maintenance technology.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  6. Must be a member of Women in Aviation, International (WAI) by Nov. 1, and that membership must remain current through March. Please note: Both men and women are eligible to join WAI.
  7. Must be an undergraduate student with a minimum of two semesters remaining.

Description: The Delta Air Lines Aircraft Maintenance Technology Scholarship is available to WAI members currently enrolled in an aviation maintenance technician program (A&P) or a degree program in aviation maintenance technology with a minimum of two semesters remaining. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the Delta Air Lines Aircraft Maintenance Technology Scholarship are:

  • Essays (2)
  • Resume
  • Aviation licenses (copies)
Additional Information: The Delta Air Lines Aircraft Maintenance Technology Scholarship is provided annually to undergraduate students who are majoring in an aviation maintenance technician program (A&P) or a degree program in aviation maintenance technology. Applicants must have a minimum of two semesters of study remaining prior to graduation and must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. All scholarships, unless otherwise noted, will be awarded at the Annual International Women in Aviation Conference. Recipients of this scholarship will receive a trip to the conference, including round-trip airfare, hotel accomodations, and conference fee. Please note: Students may only receive one scholarship per year.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
