Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be a full-time student.
  5. Must be currently enrolled in an associate or baccalaureate degree in aviation maintenance management or aviation business management.
  6. Must be a member of Women in Aviation, International (WAI) by Nov. 1, and that membership must remain current through March. Please note: Both men and women are eligible to join WAI.
  7. Must have a minimum of two semesters left before college graduation.

Description: The Delta Air Lines Aviation Maintenance Management/Aviation Business Management Scholarship is available for a U.S. student currently enrolled in an associate or baccalaureate degree in aviation maintenance management or aviation business management. Eligible applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher and be a member of Women in Aviation, International.

Application requirements for the Delta Air Lines Aviation Maintenance Management/Aviation Business Management Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The Delta Air Lines Aviation Maintenance Management/Aviation Business Management Scholarship is provided annually to undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree in aviation maintenance management or aviation business management. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must be active members of Women in Aviation, International. Award selection is primarily based on the strength of recommendations, academic merit, and demonstrated potential for career success. All scholarships, unless otherwise noted, will be awarded at the Annual International Women in Aviation Conference. Delta will provide a trip to the conference for the recipient of this award, to include round-trip airfare, hotel accomodations, and conference fee. Please note: Students may only receive one scholarship per year.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications are available on the Women in Aviation, International (WAI) website. A complete application packet must include three stapled sets of the following (one original and two copies): a completed application form; two recommendation letters of one page each; a 500-word typed, descriptive essay; a professional resume; and copies of all aviation licenses and medical certificates, and the last three pages of the applicant's pilot logbook, if applicable. A separate application packet must be submitted for each scholarship for which the student wishes to apply. Students may apply for a maximum of two scholarships per year. Application packets must be sent to the address provided and be postmarked by the deadline date.
