In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a member in good standing in Phi Delta Kappa International.
  2. Must be attending or planning to attend full-time.
  3. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a graduate program.
  4. Be currently enrolled in an accredited graduate program in the public school field of educational leadership in the pre-school, elementary, secondary or high education level.
  5. This award is for international and U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for graduate students who are members of Phi Delta Kappa International and are majoring in an educational leadership field.

Application requirements for the Donald H. and Verna S. Duncan Endowed Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Personal statement
  • Recommendation letter (2)
  • Summary of PDK involvement
Additional Information: The Donald H. and Verna S. Duncan Fellowship is for good standing members of PDK International who are currently enrolled in an accredited graduate program in the public school field of educational leadership in the pre-school, elementary, secondary or higher education level.

Award Amount: $1000, non-renewable  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications for the award may be found online at the PDK website. Applicants must submit: a completed application form; transcripts of all graduate work as evidence of academic success; a position paper, no longer than 1,000 words, addressing the applicant’s role as an educational leader; a one-paragraph summary of applicant’s involvement and activities with PDK; two letters of recommendation – one from a major professor and one from a professional colleague, supervisor, or peer attesting to the applicant’s qualifications. Completed applications and all supporting documentation must be submitted through the online application portal by the deadline date.
