The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on funding and the number of qualified applicants. Last year 61 awards were offered.
Through a variety of funds, the Foundation offers scholarships to students in medical school or who are enrolled in allied health careers with direct patient care and identified as having critical workforce shortages. Preference is given to a student closer to completing his/her degree. Preference will also be given to candidates from Wisconsin who are attending an educational institution in Wisconsin, and to those who show a strong interest in practicing in Wisconsin, especially in areas of need. Applicants are evaluated on the following criteria: financial need, academic achievement, personal qualities and strengths, and letters of recommendation.
