Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher.
  2. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application.
  3. Must be enrolled in an accredited Michigan college or university.
  4. Must be majoring in a field related to the Michigan energy industry.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.

Description: The Energy Education For Michigan Scholarship is available for undergraduate students in Michigan who are majoring in a field relevant to the energy industry. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher and unmet financial need.

Additional Information: The Michigan Oil and Gas Association (MOGA) represents nearly 850 members across all aspects of the state’s oil and natural gas sector. This award is provided as a demonstration of the industry's commitment to education, as well as to assist in training the next generation of engineers and energy sector workers. Selection will be based on academic achievement, financial need, and the submitted responses to short answer questions.

Award Amount: A minimum of $500 annually. Previous recipients may apply for renewal the award by submitting the renewal application prior to the annual deadline, but extension of funding is not guaranteed.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications and additional information are available online at the Michigan Oil and Gas Association website. To be considered for an award, applicants must complete the entire online application form. A completed application must include an attached copy of the student's resume detailing all work history, experience, and honors, as well as a copy of his or her official transcripts indicating a grade point average for all undergraduate work completed and attempted. Students must also submit responses to the short answer prompts to provide additional information and context about his or her academic and professional goals, and any obstacles he or she faces in pursuing them. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted through the online application form. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
