Number of Awards & Eligibility: Four to six awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must enroll full time.
  3. Must be pursuing a degree in culinary arts or communications.
  4. Must be currently enrolled at a college/university and have an expected graduation date that is no earlier than January 1, 2019.

Additional Information: The International Foodservice Editorial Council (IFEC) is a non-profit professional association of foodservice communicators. Its 275 members include writers and editors, public relations and marketing communications professionals, educators and consultants working in the foodservice industry. Through its scholarship program and other educational activities, IFEC aims to encourage high professional standards among those working in and with the foodservice media. Applicants for this scholarship will be judged on the basis of strong academic record, good character references and financial need. Past recipients have been students enrolled in culinary schools as well as liberal arts colleges and universities. A committee made up of members of IFEC chooses these recipients. Scholarship recipients willl be notified in July.

Award Amount: $1,500 to $6,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,250.

Applications are be available online on the International Foodservice Editorial Council (IFEC) website.In addition to the completed application, the student must submit an official transcript of his/her current or last year of study as well as two letters of recommendation from a supervisor, teacher, advisor or other foodservice or communications professional familiar with the student's skills.The student must return the application in hard copy form, typed (not handwritten), in the same envelope as the transcript and two letters of recommendation.The application and all supporting materials must be submitted to the provided address, and must be sent by email or postmarked by the deadline date.
