Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be enrolled in an accounting program preparing for a career in state and local government finance. Graduate students may also be studying public administration.
  3. Must be a full-time student.
  4. Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada.
  5. Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at time of application. Please note: Undergraduate students must be in the process of completing at least their junior year by the time the scholarship is awarded.

Additional Information: The Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship of $10,000 is available for award to one or more undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in full-time study preparing for a career in state and local government finance. The winner, if one is selected, will be invited to attend the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada’s (GFOA) annual conference, where the award will be presented. The GFOA will provide a complimentary annual conference registration and pay for transportation costs to San Antonio as well as hotel accommodations.

Award Amount: $10,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $20,000.
