In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must reside in Texas.
  4. Must have experience in the floral industry.
  5. Must pursue a career in the floral industry.
  6. Must be entering the Texas State Florists' Association's Texas Master Florist Program.

Additional Information: Ann Hobbs' love for the floral industry set in motion the opportunity for her to serve as TSFA President. Her passion was the people. She was a founding member of the Texas Floral Endowment and paved the way for the scholarship programs through the Texas Floral Endowment. The recipient must utilize the scholarship within two years of the award. Awardees are announced during the Endowment presentation each year in July at the Texas State Florists' Association Annual Convention.

Award Amount: $1,200 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,200.

Applications are available on the Texas Floral Endowment (TFE) website. The applicant is welcome to apply for all TFE scholarships for which he/she is qualified; a separate application must be submitted for each scholarship. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must submit three letters of reference and transcripts (if a current full-time student). The application requires that each applicant discuss school activities and special recognition, employment and work experience, previous or current scholarships, reasons for applying for the scholarship, career plans, and why he/she wants to be in the floral industry. For this award only, applicants must also submit a 300-word essay outlining their interest in the Texas Master Florist Program. The application must be mailed to the address provided or to the following address for overnight or hand delivery: 9004C Anderson Mill Road, Austin, TX 78729. The application must be received by the deadline date.
