The Communities Foundation of Texas has been a partner with local individuals, families and businesses for raising the quality of life in the Texas community since 1953. Providing scholarships to deserving students is an important part of this mission, in the hopes that financial assistance will help these students to reach their full potential in high schools, colleges and continuing education across the country. The Doolittle Tokyo Raiders’ Board of Directors announces the establishment of the General James H. Doolittle Scholarship Fund with the Communities Foundation of Texas to honor their leader in perpetuity. Purpose of the fund is to assist college students through the award of one scholarship annually in the maximum amount of $5,000 to a deserving student who is pursuing a baccalaureate or advanced degree in aeronautical engineering or an aerospace science. The selection criteria shall include scholastic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need.
