To apply for this scholarship, the student must submit the George Mason University (GMU) Scholarship Application. This is the only application needed to be considered for most scholarships offered through the university. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit a current resume (covering the past three years) indicating experience (work and/or volunteer), memberships and/or affiliations, leadership experience, honors and awards, and significant contributions to the community; and a typed one- to two-page personal statement that should include a brief organized history of his/her background, educational and career goals. The applicant may also provide personal information that would assist the committee in the selection process and in understanding him/her as an individual. Please note: The student's most recent FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be completed and on file with the Office of Student Financial Aid by the deadline date in order to determine financial need. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at college financial aid offices, and at high school guidance offices. International students may submit a statement of financial need instead of the FAFSA. The completed application must be submitted to the GMU Office of Student Financial Aid at the address provided by the deadline date.
