The Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship is available for award to an upper-division undergraduate or graduate student of public administration, (governmental) accounting, finance, political science, economics, or business administration (with a specific focus on government or nonprofit management). The purpose of the Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship is to recognize outstanding performance by minority students preparing for careers in state and local government finance. This scholarship is funded by Siemens. The winner, if one is selected, will be invited to attend the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada’s (GFOA) annual conference in San Antonio, Texas in May, where the award will be presented. The GFOA will provide the winner a complimentary annual conference registration, transportation costs to San Antonio as well as hotel accommodations.
