Number of Awards & Eligibility: Eleven awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be an Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) member as reflected on his/her October chapter roster or before. New member applications must be completely processed prior to the end of September in order for a student to be eligible.
  2. Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student to apply for this award.
  3. Must be pursuing a course of study in industrial engineering.
  4. Must enroll as a full-time student.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.4 or higher.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.
  7. Must attend a U.S. institution.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S. undergraduate students who are majoring in industrial engineering, have a grade point average of 3.4 or higher and are members of the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers.

Additional Information: The Harold and Inge Marcus Scholarship is available to undergraduate students enrolled in any school in the United States provided the school’s engineering program is accredited by an agency recognized by IISE and the student is pursuing a course of study in industrial engineering. This award is intended to recognize academic excellence and noteworthy contribution to the development of the industrial engineering profession.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

A student cannot directly apply for this scholarship; he/she must be nominated by his/her industrial engineering department head or faculty adviser. Nomination forms are available on the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) website and must be completed online by Nov. 15. Please note: A student who is nominated and selected as a finalist will be sent an application package to complete and return to IISE. Applications must be postmarked on or before Nov. 15.
