Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a high school senior or undergraduate student at time of application.
  3. Must be a current graduating senior of a Lincoln or Lancaster County public or private high school or a current college student residing in Lincoln or Lancaster County, Nebraska.
  4. Must be enrolled or plan to enroll as an art major in any accredited art program at a qualified institute, college or university.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must be a full-time student.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Haymarket Emerging Artists Scholarship is available to current graduating seniors or former graduates of a Lincoln/Lancaster County public or private high school, or a current college student residing in Lincoln/Lancaster County, Nebraska.

Application requirements for the Haymarket Gallery Emerging Artists Scholarship are:

  • High school or college transcript
  • Recommendation letter
  • Scanned photographs of recent works of art
Additional Information: This scholarship is available to a current graduating senior of a Lincoln/Lancaster County public or private high school, or a current college student residing in Lincoln/Lancaster County, Nebraska, who is enrolled as an art major in any accredited art program at a qualified institute, college or university. Applicants must demonstrate extraordinary artistic promise and intend to continue his/her education.

Award Amount: $450 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $450.

Applications are available online. In addition to a completed application, applicants must also submit a letter of recommendation and three 4 X 6 inch photographs of recent art works they have completed (three different works if possible). Each photograph must include the following: the title and description of works; medium used; original size of each piece; description of assignment(s) in which the works were created; and a brief statement regarding inspiration for each piece, concept behind the works, what the pieces mean to the applicant, etc.
