Health Professions Education Foundation
Up to $50,000 annually, non-renewable. The student's graduation date may affect the amount of funding he/she is eligible to receive. Funding is intended to pay tuition, required fees, books, supplies, and educational equipment costs related to the student's registered nurse or pre-nursing education.
The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on funding.
Recipients must graduate after June 30, 2018. Selection for the awards is based on the following criteria: work experience, financial need, career goals, community service, community background, and academic performance. Priority is given to applicants whose community background and commitment indicates the likelihood of long-term employment in a medically underserved area even after the service obligation has ended. Applicants who owe a service obligation to practice direct patient care to another entity entered into before filing an application with the foundation are ineligible to receive a scholarship. Recipients agree to a two-year service obligation practicing direct patient care at a qualified facility in California.
The application deadline date has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected to remain the same as last year. The deadline date shown here is tentative based on last year's date. Please che ... sign up for full scholarship deadline information.
