Number of Awards & Eligibility: Fifteen awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be enrolled in a graduate program in the following academic year.
  4. Must engage in graduate studies for the purpose of teaching at the college level.
  5. Must enroll full time.
  6. Must not be enrolled in a professional program of study (medical, law, divinity, business, etc.).

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This fellowship is available for U.S. graduate students who plan to teach at the college/university level. Students must be enrolled full time in a non-professional program of study.

Application requirements for the Intercollegiate Studies Institute Graduate Fellowship are:

Additional Information: Please note: The student must be a member of the ISI who receives 'The Intercollegiate Review' to be considered. Membership is free for students, and the student may apply for membership at the time of fellowship application. Membership information is available on the ISI website by clicking on 'Join ISI now!' link. Recipients will be notified by mail in April.

Award Amount: Fellowship amounts range from $5,000 to $15,000. All awards are provided annually and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications are available online on the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) website. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following: a listing of four brief statements addressing the topics listed on the application; a one-page outline of prior education, awards, fellowships, and internships; a five- to ten-page essay on the theme of "Education and a Free Society"; a personal, philosophical, and professional autobiography (ten pages maximum); a copy of a paper submitted for university coursework (ten pages maximum); three academic letters of recommendation (submitted by the recommender with the 'Letter of Recommendation form on the ISI website); all graduate (if applicable) and undergraduate transcripts (may be sent by institution); and a 2" x 3" photo or headshot. All written materials must be in 12-point standard font, and double-spaced. Please note: Students may apply for more than one fellowship in any given academic cycle. For each fellowship sought, students must submit separate copies of all components of the application. All application materials must be submitted online and/or sent to the address provided, and must be received/postmarked by the deadline date.
