Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Last year, five awards were given.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale OR a 4.5 or higher on a 6.0 scale.
  3. Must be pursuing a managerial career in the private club industry.
  4. Must have completed his/her freshman year of college and be enrolled for the full academic year in an accredited four-year institution.
  5. Must enroll full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: International and U.S. students who have completed their freshman year at time of application and have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher are eligible for this award. Students must enroll full time and plan to pursue a managerial career in the private club industry.

Additional Information: The Club Foundation, the only 501(c)(3) charitable organization for the private club industry, was created by the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) in 1988. Its mission is to financially support the professional development of club managers through education, training and research initiatives. This includes awarding scholarships to students who are pursuing careers in club management. The Club Foundation awards scholarships based on the availability of funds and merit of application. Scholarship awards are made at the recommendation of The Club Foundation Allocation Committee (CFAC) and approved by the Board of Governors. The scholarship award is made directly to the registrar at the college or university the recipient attends.

Award Amount: The award amount varies annually. Awards are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,808.

Applications are available online from The Club Foundation website. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit the following materials: an essay of 500 to 1,000 words addressing the components listed on the application; sealed official transcripts from all colleges attended (sent directly by the college/university); completed recommendation forms and recommendation letters from an adviser/professor and a private club industry professional (must be on letterhead and signed); and a copy of his/her current resume. All supporting materials must be typed, signed, and dated. Materials should be clipped together using paper clips; no staples or binding should be used. All applications and supporting materials must be mailed to the address provided and must be received by the deadline date.
