Engineers' Society Of Western Pennsylvania - International Water Conference

Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a current college sophomore or older to apply for this undergraduate award.
  4. Must be enrolled in a mechanical or chemical engineering program of study. The applicant must have a demonstrated interest and commitment to seek a career in the field of water technology. The fields of environmental wastewater, water pollution control and water resource management do not qualify.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. undergraduate students who have sophomore standing or higher in a mechanical or chemical engineering program are eligible for this award. Student must have a demonstrated interest and commitment to seek a career in the field of water technology.

Application requirements for the Joseph A. Levendusky Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
Additional Information: The applicant must be accepted for enrollment in, or be enrolled in good standing in an accredited institution in the United States. He/she must not be planning to study outside of the country or planning to use monies to do so.

Award Amount: Up to $7,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,000.

Applications are available online from the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania (ESWP). In addition to the completed application, the student must submit two personal reference letters, two professional reference letters, and a 250-word comprehensive educational objective. The objective should include what occupation he/she wants to prepare for by attending college and the reasons he/she has decided on the field of water technology. Applications and supporting materials must be submitted by the deadline date.
