Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five awards offered annually. Three of the scholarships will be offered to agricultural curriculum majors and two scholarships will be offered to non-agricultural or agricultural curriculum majors.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a member or a dependent of a member of the Maryland Farm Bureau.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. Must be a high school senior starting college in the fall OR a current undergraduate college student at any community college or four-year institution.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors or current undergraduate college students who are members or dependents of a member of the Maryland Farm Bureau. Scholarships will be awarded to both agricultural and non-agricultural majors.

Additional Information: Selection will be made by a committee designated by the Maryland Farm Bureau board of directors. The committee reserves the right to interview scholarship applicants if they feel it necessary for determination of winners. The scholarship will be awarded to winning applicants in conjunction with high school graduation programs or prior to the beginning of the fall semester. Winners or their parents will also be recognized at the Maryland Farm Bureau Annual Banquet in December. Family members of MFB staff and officers are ineligible to apply for a scholarship.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable. A student may reapply and receive this award a maximum of four times.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications are available online by visiting the Maryland Farm Bureau website. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit a current photograph and write an essay answering this year's essay question. The essay should not exceed two double-spaced pages using 12-point font sizeand normal margins. The essay must not be signed or contain any personal information as the selection committee will evaluate each essay anonymously. The application and essay must be submitted online by the deadline date.
