Number of Awards & Eligibility: A total of 26 awards are offered annually (13 scholarships for minority students and 13 scholarships for women).
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be entering the first year of a graduate program.
  4. Must be pursuing a degree/career in a sports-related field.
  5. Must be an ethnic minority OR a woman.
  6. Must plan to enroll full time.
  7. Must have a grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
  8. Must be in final season of NCAA eligibility.

Application requirements for the Minority & Women’s Postgraduate Scholarship for Careers in Athletics are:

  • Official Transcript
  • Application form
Additional Information: Students must be entering their initial year of graduate studies and have been accepted into a sports administration or other program that will help them obtain a career in intercollegiate athletics.

Award Amount: $7,500, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,500.

Additional information can be found on the NCAA website. Students must indicate whether they are applying to the ethnic minoirity or women's scholarship, although women are encouraged to apply to both programs. Students must complete the online application, which includes a listing of their college experience, grade point average, scholarships and awards received, extracurricular activities, internships, and varsity/club sports participation. Students must also include a personal statement (500 words or less) and list the contact information for three individuals who are willing to complete recommendations for them. In addition to the online application, students must also submit their official transcript(s) to the address provided. Test scores and acceptance letters may also be submitted, but are not required. The online application and all materials must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on the deadline date.
