Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Last year, three scholarships were awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must attend college in one of the following states: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon or Washington.
  3. Must pursue a career in television or film, such as broadcasting, production, editing, etc.
  4. Must be a high school graduate or older at time of application. The applicant must have one or more years of school remaining at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. or international college freshmen, sophomores and/or juniors who attend college in one of the following states: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon or Washington. Students must pursue a career in television or film, such as broadcasting, production, editing, etc.

Application requirements for the NATAS Northwest Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Unofficial Transcript
  • Personal statement
  • Letter of endorsement
Additional Information: The goal of the NATAS Northwest Scholarship Program is to sustain promising students in the pursuit of their studies in the field of television. A General Scholarship is awarded for students who complete Personal Essay Part A. Students who complete Part B will be considered for the Tricia Moen Scholarship Award. Students who wish to be considered for both awards must complete both writing prompts.

Award Amount: The amount of each award varies annually. Last year, scholarships in the amount of $2,500 were awarded.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available on the NATAS Northwest Chapter website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must also include an unofficial college transcript, a 250-word personal statement addressing one or both of the topics listed on the application, and a faculty letter of endorsement (page two of the application). All application materials must be saved as PDF files and submitted by email to the provided email address.
