Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must attend an accredited college or university in Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina or Asheville, North Carolina.
  4. Must pursue a career in the television industry.
  5. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.

Description: The NATAS Southeast Scholarship program is available for students in Georgia and the Southeast as an investment in the future of the television industry.

Additional Information: NATAS Southeast has established a scholarship program in Georgia and the Southeast as an investment in the future of the television industry. The purpose of this program is to encourage a higher standard of professionalism and excellence, foster a stronger relationship between higher education and the media, and support the commitment of promising future television professionals. Judges will consider the quality of each applicant's work sample, communications/writing ability, television-related experience and academic performance in choosing scholarship winners.

Award Amount: Up to $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications are available on the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Southeast Chapter website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must submit the following: a cover letter; a description of work in his/her particular area of interest in television which indicates the applicant's role, e.g., producer, writer, shooter, talent, or director, and a one-page synopsis of the subject matter and script; an official college transcript; a one-page essay addressing the topic listed on the application; and one letter of recommendation from a faculty member in the applicant's major area of study. The application package must be submitted online by the deadline.
