Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  2. Must be a resident of Florida.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must be majoring in engineering.
  6. Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study at the time of application.
  7. Must attend the University of Florida (UF).

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for Florida students who are majoring in engineering at the University of Florida. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study at the time of application.

Application requirements for the Raymond W. Miller and Alice E. Miller Scholarships are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Recommendation letter
  • Interview
Additional Information: Evaluation will be made on the basis of academic performance, work experience, activities, honors, essay and letters of recommendation, along with evidence of leadership, motivation, character and self-reliance.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable for one year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the Florida Engineering Society (FES) website. An official transcript and a letter of recommendation from an engineering faculty member must also be submitted with the application in a separate sealed envelope. Each applicant is only required to submit one application in order to be considered for all foundation scholarships available. If permitted by the applicant, each application may be passed to other engineering entities for scholarship consideration as well. Each applicant will be sent a notification letter regarding selection of semi-finalist candidates. A member or members of the scholarship committee will interview the semi-finalists. The interview process is part of the application grading. All application materials must be submitted by the deadline date to the student's local chapter representative.
