Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. In the 2016-2017 academic year, there were 29 awards disbursed.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Louisiana for one year or more prior to July 1 of the scholarship award year.
  3. Must enroll full time.
  4. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher if an undergraduate student OR a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on all credits earned if a graduate student.
  5. Must attend a Louisiana public college or university.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
  7. Must major in forestry, wildlife, or marine science.
  8. Must be a college junior or senior or a graduate student. Undergraduate students must have earned at least 60 hours of college credit.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for Louisiana students who are pursuing a major in forestry, wildlife, or marine science at a Louisiana public college or university. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher (or 3.0 or higher if a graduate student).

Additional Information: The Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship is a competitive scholarship that awards undergraduate students and graduate students pursuing a degree in forestry, wildlife or marine science at a Louisiana Public College or University.

Award Amount: Up to $2,000 annually for an undergraduate student and up to $3,000 annually to a graduate student. The cumulative maximum award is $12,000 for up to three years of undergraduate study and two years of graduate study.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,069.

Applications are available from the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) website under the "LOSFA Programs" tab. Applications must be downloaded and completed with a dark ink ballpoint pen or by typing. In addition to the application, students must also submit an official college transcript of the most recent semester attended. Applications must be submitted no later than July 1 immediately before the academic year the student is planning to enroll. Applications submitted after the July 1 deadline but before Dec. 1 may be eligible for the next spring semester if funds are available. Please note: Students must also file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by July 1 for fall classes, or Dec. 1 for spring classes. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices.
