Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be enrolled full time at an accredited college or university.
  3. Must major in interior design or a related field.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student at time of application. Applicants must have completed four design courses in a postsecondary interior design or related program.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. undergraduate students who have completed one semester or more of postsecondary education and are majoring in interior design or a related field.

Additional Information: The Ruth Clark Scholarship was established by the Carolinas Chapter to honor Ruth Clark, one of the chapter's founding members. The scholarship is open to currently enrolled postsecondary students whose emphasis is on residential furniture design. The IFDA Educational Foundation Board of Trustees will select the scholarship recipient based on the student's academic achievement, awards and accomplishments, future plans and goals, and letter of recommendation.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.

Applications are available on the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) Educational Foundation website. Applications are accepted between March 1 and March 31 each year. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must also submit the following: five digital copies in color or CD, showing five different examples of his/her original work; a certified, sealed transcript of coursework that verifies full-time status and his/her grade point average; a letter of recommendation from a professor or instructor on official school stationery; and a 200- to 400-word essay addressing the topic listed on the application. The application and all supporting materials must be submitted to the address provided by the deadline date.
