Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. Must be a woman.
  4. Must demonstrate leadership in women's issues.
  5. Must be a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
  6. Must be majoring in or planning to pursue a career in public relations.
  7. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.

Description: This scholarship is available for female students majoring in public relations and related fields. Applicants must demonstrate achievement and leadership in women's issues and women's studies.

Additional Information: The Ruth Edelman/PRRSA Scholarship is provided annually to honor student members who have made significant contributions and achievements for women's causes. Students will also be provided with the opportunity for a three month internship with Edelmen.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable. $500 will be awarded up on winning and $1,000 will be awarded when starting the internship.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available online from the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must submit the following materials: a resume including any academic honors, special projects, activities, work experience, or training that he/she would like to be taken into consideration; at least one and no more than ten writing samples; and one or two letters of academic and/or professional recommendation (sent directly to the PRSSA headquareters by the recommender). All applications and supporting materials must be submitted online by the deadline date.
