Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior, college student, or adult student.
  4. Must be a resident of Texas.
  5. Must major and pursue a career in horticulture, landscaping, or floriculture.
  6. Must attend an accredited two-year community college or floral design school in Texas.
  7. Must be involved in volunteer or community service work.

Description: This scholarship is open to Texas high school seniors and college students who are majoring in and pursuing careers in horticulture, landscaping, or floriculture. Students must attend two-year community colleges or floral design schools in Texas and be involved in volunteer or community service.

Application requirements for the Society for the Advancement of Floral Design HS/College/Adult Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Awardees are announced during the Endowment presentation each year in July at the Texas State Florists' Association Annual Convention.

Award Amount: $700 annually, non-renewable. The scholarship may be used only for books, tuition, or board.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $700.

The application deadline date has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected to remain the same as last year. The deadline date shown here is tentative based on last year's date. Please check back in February for a refreshed application deadline date. Applications are available on the Texas Floral Endowment (TFE) website. The applicant is welcome to apply for all TFE scholarships for which he/she is qualified; a separate application must be submitted for each scholarship. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must submit three letters of reference and transcripts (if a current full-time student). The application requires that each applicant discuss school activities and special recognition, employment and work experience, previous or current scholarships, reasons for applying for the scholarship, career plans, and why he/she wants to be in the floral industry. The application must be mailed to the address provided or to the following address for overnight or hand delivery: 715 Discovery Blvd., Suite 403, Cedar Park, TX 78613. The application must be received by the deadline date.
