Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be majoring in journalism, communications, or public relations.
  4. Must have an overall grade point average of 3.3 or higher.
  5. Must be a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America. Leadership positions may benefit the candidate.
  6. Must be a college junior or senior to apply for this award.

Description: This award is available for U.S. college juniors and seniors who are members of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). Applicants must be have a grade point average of 3.3 or higher and major in journalism, communications, or public relations.

Additional Information: The Stephen D. Pisinski Memorial Scholarship was established in 2002 at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The scholarship was developed by Allison & Partners in memory of Steve Pisinski, APR, Fellow PRSA and founder of The Montgomery Group.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable. The award will be payable to the recipient's university for the his/her use, and can only be used to fund educational pursuits.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available online from the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must submit the following materials: a resume including any academic honors, special projects, activities, work experience, or training that he/she would like to be taken into consideration; an official transcript of all college studies, including grades of the preceding semester; an essay of no more than 1,000 words stating his/her career goals; two strong writing samples; and two letters of academic and/or professional recommendation (sent directly to the PRSSA headquareters by the recommender). All applications and supporting materials must be submitted online by the deadline date.
