Number of Awards & Eligibility: Varies.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must apply by Dec. 1 of his/her senior year for admission for the following fall semester.
  3. Must attend the University of Richmond.
  4. Must demonstrate passion and excellence in scientific discovery in the sciences, mathematics, and computer science.
  5. Must must major in the sciences and exhibit a strong potential for the successful pursuit of a career in a science, math, or computer science field.
  6. Must attend a university in Virginia.

Description: This scholarship is available for international and U.S. high school seniors who plan to atted the University of Richmond. Students must major in the sciences and exhibit a strong potential for the successful pursuit of a career in a science, math, or computer science field.

Application requirements for the UR Richmond Scholars Program – Science Scholars are:

  • Application form
  • Recommendation letters (2)
  • Official Transcript
  • $50 app. fee
  • Test scores
  • Interview (finalists only)
Additional Information: Students who are selected to advance to the semifinalist round will be notified by email and postal mail. Semifinalists will be asked to submit additional information to the committee in order to advance to the finalist round. Finalists will be notified by email and postal mail in order to make arrangements for an expense-paid campus visit for the required scholarship interview. The interview is typically held in mid-March.

Award Amount: Selected scholars will receive awards equal to full tuition, room and board valued at $64,980, renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $259,920.
