Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two undergraduate and two graduate awards offered annually. The number of awards may vary.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be an enrolled member of a U.S. federally recognized American Indian tribe or Alaska Native group.
  2. Must be a current college junior or senior OR an incoming graduate or professional student.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be pursuing a career and degree in fields relating to banking, resort management, gaming operations, management and administration (including accounting, finance, information technology, and human resources).
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must enroll as a full-time student.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S. college juniors and seniors and graduate/professional students who are of Native American or Alaskan Native descent and pursuing a degree in fields relating to banking, resort management, gaming operations, management and administration (including accounting, finance, information technology and human resources). Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demostrated financial need.

Additional Information: The scholarship program is sponsored and funded by Wells Fargo and administered by the American Indian Graduate Center. Applicants will be evaluated based on academic excellence, demonstrated leadership, commitment to preserving American Indian culture and communities, proof of enrollment in a United States federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native tribe, and demonstrated financial need.

Award Amount: Undergraduate awards are $2,500 and graduate awards are $5,000. All awards are non-renewable. Award amounts may vary.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,750.

Applications are available online at the American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) website. Detailed instructions for creating an account and beginning the application process are available by clicking the "Online Application Instructions" link. The student must provide the following documents in the online application system: a personal statement; information about his/her four most recent paid and unpaid employment positions, leadership roles and community engagement opportunities; and contact information for one academic reference and one community reference. The student is also required to provide unofficial transcripts, a letter of acceptance, and proof of enrollment; however, these documents may be submitted at any time prior to awarding of scholarship funds. The completed application must be submitted by May 1. Please note: In addition to the online application, the student must also submit a Financial Need Form (FNF) and a Tribal Eligibility Certificate (TEC). The FNF and TEC are available on the AIGC website and are due by July 15. The student must also complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by July 15. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices.
