Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually. One award will benefit a student who currently is enrolled in an accredited airframe & powerplant (A&P) program at an approved FAR Part 147 school. The second award will benefit an individual who currently is not enrolled but has been accepted for enrollment in an A&P program.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must pursue a career as an aviation maintenance technician.
  4. Must be currently enrolled in an accredited airframe and powerplant (A&P) program at an approved FAR Part 147 school OR be accepted for enrollment in an A&P program.

Additional Information: Awards will be made without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available on the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following: an official transcript (if currently enrolled) or a copy of a letter of acceptance (if not currently enrolled but accepted for enrollment); a 250-word, typed, double-spaced essay describing his/her interest in and goals for a career in the aviation maintenance field; a current one-page resume with his/her permanent home address; and a letter of recommendation from either a faculty member or other individual who is familiar with his/her capabilities. An additional letter of recommendation from an NBAA member company representative is encouraged but not required. Completed applications and required documents must be submitted online by the deadline date.
