Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually. One award will benefit a student who currently is enrolled in an accredited airframe & powerplant (A&P) program at an approved FAR Part 147 school. The second award will benefit an individual who currently is not enrolled but has been accepted for enrollment in an A&P program.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must pursue a career as an aviation maintenance technician.
  4. Must be currently enrolled in an accredited airframe and powerplant (A&P) program at an approved FAR Part 147 school OR be accepted for enrollment in an A&P program.

Additional Information: Awards will be made without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available on the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following: an official transcript (if currently enrolled) or a copy of a letter of acceptance (if not currently enrolled but accepted for enrollment); a 250-word, typed, double-spaced essay describing his/her interest in and goals for a career in the aviation maintenance field; a current one-page resume with his/her permanent home address; and a letter of recommendation from either a faculty member or other individual who is familiar with his/her capabilities. An additional letter of recommendation from an NBAA member company representative is encouraged but not required.Completed applications and required documents must be submitted online by the deadline date.
