Changing The World Scholarship

This appreciation has led us to establish our biannual award, The Law Offices of John D. Ameen Changing The World Scholarship. Our firm recognizes students who share our commitment to innovation and positive change by offering a $1,000 award each semester to STEM majors throughout the United States. Science, technology, engineering, and math have helped to enhance the legal profession, and we hope this scholarship will help to promote STEM students’ academic careers for years to come.

This scholarship is available for undergraduate students who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and plans to major in a STEM field. Applicants must submit an original work that presents creative ideas for solving the budget deficit while educating and empowering our youth.

Renate W. Chasman Scholarship

This award is for U.S. re-entry female students – one who has returned to school to pursue her education following an interruption. Applicants must be residents of Long Island in New York State, accepted for credit into a degree-oriented program in the natural sciences, engineering, or mathematics, and entering the junior or senior undergraduate year or first-year graduate level.

This award is available to Virginia students who are currently enrolled at a Virginia community college as a freshmen student. This award is for U.S college sophomores who are enrolled full time in a program of study in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) at one of the five Virginia Space Grant institutions. The student must be federally recognized as a minority (African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, or Pacific Islander).

John L. and Jeanne C. Hughes Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors and adult students entering their freshman year who reside in the Connecticut Community Foundation’s 21-town service area.
