Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a college sophomore, junior, or senior in the upcoming academic year.
  3. Must be enrolled in a mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or related baccalaureate program.
  4. Must be enrolled full time.

Description: International and U.S. college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors enrolled in an ABET-accredited mechanical engineering program are eligible for this award. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need.

  • Recommendation letter(s) (up to 2)
  • ASME membership
  • Financial information
Additional Information: Preference will be given to applicants demonstrating financial need. Scholastic ability and potential contribution to the mechanical engineering profession will also be considered. Applicants must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited school for the upcoming academic year. Information regarding accreditation status is available online at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx. Applicants also must have established a grade point average in their degree programs to qualify. If applicants have not established a grade point average at the college level, they are not eligible to apply. All applicants will be notified of the scholarship results between June 15 and July 1. Scholarship money will be sent to scholarship winners by the end of August.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship awardees from past years will not be selected to receive additional scholarships. Students must apply again each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.
