Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be currently enrolled in a U.S. medical school.
  4. Must be a Pennsylvania resident from Lehigh County for 12 or more months before registering as a medical student.
  5. Must enroll full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Residents of Lehigh County in Pennsylvania who are enrolled full time in a U.S. medical school are eligible for this award.

Application requirements for the LeCoMASE Medical Student Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Verif. of enroll.
Additional Information: Finalists may be called for a personal interview by the committee.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available online from The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit two reference letters, a letter verifying full-time enrollment, and a one-page essay detailing his/her goals and expectations in medicine. Applications must be postmarked by the deadline date.
