Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a graduating high school senior at the time of application.
  2. Must reside in the cities of Ojai or Ventura in California.
  3. Must be planning to major in music.

Additional Information: The Berenice Barnard Music Education Scholarship Fund is provided annually through a partnership with the Ventura County Community Foundation. Scholarships are provided to students in the cities of Ojai and Ventura who plan to pursue a major in music at a community college or four-year college or university. Award selection will be primarily based on student responses to the essay prompt for this award.

Award Amount: $700 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $700.

Applications for the Berenice Barnard Music Education Scholarship Fund are available online at the Ventura County Community Foundation website.To apply for an award, students must complete all sections of the online application form. Applicants must also submit an original essay in response to the award's topic, as well as two letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be submitted by a current faculty member at the school the student is attending. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
