  1. Must attend Wenatchee High School.
  2. Must have at least one year as an active member in the Golden Apple Marching Band.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior.

Description: The Dr. N.K. Bhide Band Scholarship is available for graduating seniors at Wenatchee High School who were active with the school marching band for at least one year.

Additional Information: The Dr. N.K. Bhide Band Scholarship is provided annually to graduating seniors at Wenatchee High School who have been active within the school's Golden Apple Marching Band. Applicants must have a minimum of one year membership with the marching band. The scholarship is administered through the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, a charitable organization that provides assistance for individuals and groups that promote community in Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties. Award selection will be based on a combination of academic achievements, unmet financial need, and demonstrated contribution to the Golden Apple Marching Band. Recipients will be notified in May and will be required to provide additional documentation proving eligibility, such as proof of acceptance or enrollment at an accredited college or university in the United States.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable. All funds will be deposited directly with the school of the recipient's choice.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

The Dr. N.K. Bhide Band Scholarship has closed for 2019 but the scholarship is expected to be offered again in 2020. Please check back in January of 2020 when applications will become available. Applications for the Dr. N.K. Bhide Band Scholarship must be completed online at the Community Foundation of North Central Washington website. To apply, students must first create an online account with the community foundation's application portal and complete the eligibility quiz. Students will then be able to access the individual applications for any scholarships they are eligible through the foundation. Applicants are encouraged to gather the following materials prior to beginning the application: their expected family contribution (EFC) from their Student Aid Report (SAR); transcripts from their current educational institution; email addresses for two individuals who will provide a recommendation for the applicant; and a list of activities, awards, and honors the student has received. The Student Aid Report is obtained by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the student's current-year FAFSA must be completed at the time of application. Students may apply to multiple scholarships they are eligible through the foundation application portal by clicking on "copy answers." Students are also advised to pay close attention to any specific short answers, essays, or other supplemental materials required for each specific scholarship's application. All submissions must be completed online by the deadline date. Any late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
