Number of Awards & Eligibility: One (1) scholarship is presented annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a New York resident.
  2. Must be enrolled in a degree program in physical or occupational therapy and may include a 2-3 month fieldwork program as part of your degree.

Application requirements for the Arthur W. Pense Scholarship for Physical or Occupational Therapy Degree Students are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
  • PT/OT Department Chairperson must sign your application form
Additional Information: One (1) scholarship is presented annually. The scholarship, in the amount of $3,000, is paid in installments of $1,500 per semester. The funds must be claimed within a four (4) year period from the time the scholarship was awarded. Students will complete and submit applications directly to The Arc New York.

Award Amount: The winner of the Arthur W. Pense Scholarship will receive $3,000. Its paid in installments of $1,500 per semester.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
