Number of Awards & Eligibility: Four awards offered annually. Please note: An additional student will be selected as an alternate, in the event that a winner does not use all of his/her funds (i.e., early graduation).
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a full-time student.
  3. Must be a college junior or senior in the upcoming academic year at a U.S. institution.
  4. Must be pursuing a poultry or related agricultural/agricultural business degree. The following types of fields are eligible: agricultural business; poultry science; food science; animal science; pre-veterinary; food marketing; agricultural economics. Dietetics is NOT an eligible field.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for international and U.S. students who are pursuing a poultry or related agricultural/agricultural business degree. Students must be enrolled as college juniors or seniors in the upcoming academic year.

Additional Information: The NPFDA mission statement is to advance the poultry and food distribution and processing industries by bringing customers and suppliers together, while providing information to enhance their businesses and increase their margins.

Award Amount: $5000 will be given to chosen applicants.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $30,000.

Applications are available on the National Poultry and Food Distributors Association (NPFDA) website. In addition to the completed application, the applicant must submit the following: his/her current official transcript; a letter of recommendation from his/her dean, department head, and/or adviser; and a one-page essay describing his/her goals and aspirations. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted online by the deadline date.
