Number of Awards & Eligibility: These two book scholarships are in the amount of $500 each.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be in the last year of study for a social work degree in a bachelor or master’s degree program accredited by CSWE.
  2. Must be an American citizen, noncitizen national, or have permanent residence status.
  3. Must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  4. Must be enrolled full time during the period in which the grant is awarded (fall 2019).
  5. Must have a demonstrated commitment to promoting equity and social justice.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Carl A. Scott Memorial Fund was established by the Council on Social Work Education's (CSWE's) Board of Directors in recognition of Carl A. Scott’s contributions to CSWE and the social work profession. Scott was at the helm of CSWE’s early efforts to foster human diversity in social work education.

Application requirements for the Carl A. Scott Book Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The Carl A. Scott Memorial Fund offers two book scholarships for ethnic minority BSW or MSW students in the last year of their social work degree from a CSWE accredited social work program. They are awarded each academic year to students who have demonstrated a commitment to work for equity and social justice in social work.

Award Amount: The grant value is $500.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
