Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two scholarships presented annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a resident of New York.
  2. Must be enrolled full-time.
  3. Must be majoring in a field related to intellectual or other developmental disabilities.
  4. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Two $3,000 scholarships are presented annually. It is paid in two installments of $1,500 per semester for any year the student is enrolled in college in a program related to the field of intellectual or other developmental disabilities. The funds must be claimed within a four-year period from the time the scholarship is awarded.

Additional Information: The Arc New York is a family-led organization. It advocates and provides support and services to people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities. One of the things it works for is to emphasize choice and community engagement. This scholarship honors James F. Reville. It is to recognize his dedication to bettering the lives of people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Mr. Reville was one of The Arc New York’s most respected Presidents. He served the Association from 1965 to 1969. He also served as President of the Welfare League Chapter, The Arc New York, from 1963 to 1964, was a member of the Association’s Board of Directors for many years, and served as the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee of the national association, The Arc. In 1970, NYS Governor Nelson Rockefeller appointed Mr. Reville to the Advisory Council on Mental Retardation Facilities and to the Developmental Disabilities Council.

Award Amount: The grant value is $1,500 per semester.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
