Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five scholarships will be awarded to junior and senior students pursuing undergraduate degrees in any academic area that will prepare them to serve and support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be an active, communicant member of a Lutheran congregation.
  2. Must be classified as a junior or senior at an accredited college or university.
  3. Must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  4. Must have a career objective in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Additional Information: Bethesda is a Lutheran organization. Its driving mission is to educate, advocate and empower people with intellectual and social disabilities. In the year 2019-2020 they will award five scholarships of $3,000 each to active members of the Lutheran congregation.

Award Amount: Scholarships are in the amount of $3,000 and will be awarded only twice to the same person  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $15,000.

Applicants complete a form which is available on the provider website and submit by mail . The form asks for documentation of 100 hours of service to people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, volunteer or paid.
