Description: This scholarship honors three Michigan public school teachers who were fired for no other reason than their refusal to pay union dues. Additional Information: The Applegate-Jackson-Parks Future Teacher Scholarship is administered by the National Institute for Labor Relations Research. It honors three Michigan public school teachers who were fired for no other reason than their refusal to pay union dues. Submit by mail or electronically though the online application is preferableAdditional information: Applicants are limited to graduate or undergraduate students majoring in education in institutions of higher learning throughout the United States. Officers, directors and employees of the National Institute for Labor Relations Research, the National Right to Work Committee, Members of the Selection Review Committee and their families are not eligible. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of scholastic ability and a demonstrated interest in the Institute’s work.If mailed, all application submissions must be postmarked from September 1st through January 31st and received no later than February 10th.
