Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three renewable awards of $1,200 each. One at each level of study – Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be from one of these Central Illinois counties: Sangamon, Menard, Mason, Logan, Morgan, Christian, Scott, Greene, Montgomery, Macoupin, Macon and Dewitt.
  2. Must be currently enrolled students in the following fields at schools in Illinois: undergraduate junior or senior in deaf education or speech & hearing: audiology; masters in speech-hearing science & disorders; doctorate in audiology.

Description: Sertoma's mission is to improve the quality of life today for those at risk or impacted by hearing loss through education and support. This is a one semester renewable $1250 scholarship to support area students who plan careers in hearing disorders. Undergraduates, graduate and PhD students are encouraged to apply.

  • and any volunteer or personal experiences that support your professional goals.

To apply you must download a form from the provider website and mail it. When you mail it in, you must also include your most recent official transcript in a sealed envelope, two letters of recommendation and an essay of approximately 200 words that describes your background and professional aspirations to support hearing impaired individuals.
